Adding Closed Captions in Zoom

Enabling Closed Captioning in Zoom:

I.  Activate 'Closed Caption' option in your Account Settings

  1. Sign in to Zoom
  2. Click on “Meeting Sessions”
  3. Scroll down to “In Meetings (Advanced)” and make sure “Closed Caption” is checked.
  4. When you begin your Zoom meeting, a closed caption icon will appear on your screen.
  5. Click on the closed caption icon

 

II.Starting closed captioning in a meeting 

1. In a Zoom meeting or webinar that you are hosting, click Closed Caption

 

2. Click one of these 3 options:

 

Each choice has the following effects:

Opens the participants window.

  • Assign a participant to type:

Opens the participants window.

Hover over the participant's name

and click More then

Assign to Type Closed Caption

 

 

 

 

I will type:

Opens the closed captioning window for you to manually type closed captions in the space as noted in the graphic.

 

Copy the API token:

Copy a URL that you can provide to a third-party closed captioning service to integrate the service with your meeting.
