Lexis is one of the major legal databases. It is a comprehensive research tool covering United States legal information, including materials from all 50 states. Lexis provides cases, statutes, regulations, and legislative histories. In addition, Lexis has a large database of secondary sources – contained in legal treatises, law journal articles, legal encyclopedias, and law digests; it also includes public records, international materials, and more. In addition, the platform provides access to Shepard’s BriefCheck, an automated citation-checking service; LexisNexis Alert, an alert service based on search parameters; and a course management service. Law360® is a current awareness tool providing breaking news in over 35 practice areas on a daily basis.
The Law Library can assist faculty members with Lexis by offering individualized training based on immediate needs or scheduling in-depth sessions with our Lexis Representative.
