On the faculty landing page of Westlaw, under User Guides and Faculty Resources, Faculty can find resources to support the law school curriculum and assist students in mastering legal research and writing skills.

 

In addition to the interactive program to learn how to cite CiteStation, the PowerPoint presentations (Instructional Aids), and the graphical interface (Jurisdictional Maps) , User Guides, include more in depth tools to retrieve relevant sources in Westlaw.

 

Jurisdictional Maps

Jurisdictional Maps an easy way to begin your research using a graphical interface to access Westlaw resources. Jurisdictional maps have been created for the federal court system, the national reporter system and to illustrate the process of legal research or research pyramid.

When you click on a state the map links to a directory of federal and state resources relevant to the state

Instructional Aids PowerPoint presentations

Instructional Aids are a series of PowerPoint presentations on the process of legal research that can be downloaded and edited to meet the objectives of the curriculum.
